Skarstedt is pleased to announce our participation in the 2024 edition of Art Basel Miami Beach. We will feature a selection of works by: Cristina BanBan, Georg Baselitz, Jean-Michel Basquiat, George Condo, Willem de Kooning, Yuan Fang, Eric Fischl, Günther Forg, Secundino Herńandez, Chantal Joffe, Hans Josephsohn, KAWS, Marco Pariani, Cindy Sherman, Rudolf Stingel, Andy Warhol, and Christopher Wool.
Skarstedt will also present at Art Basel Meridians, a large-scale work by Yuan Fang. The mural-like Three Moves is comprised of three canvas panels; installed sequentially, this is the largest single artwork ever created by Yuan Fang. It reflects her signature undulating and massive gestural abstractions, highlighting her recent experimental medium shift from acrylic to oil, which she began in the summer of 2024. Fang's treatment of oil is both compelling and contrasting. In some parts, the oil is diluted and vigorously applied, creating an almost watercolor-like sumptuousness. While in others, the oil is left unadulterated and protrudes from the canvas in a dense, variegated impasto. This scale allows the viewer to be fully enveloped by Fang’s gestural abstractions and can illicit both calm and catharsis; opposing yet complimentary reactions.
